Campaigns
The NMPCC organises a number of campaigns in support of missing persons and proactively targets existing events to extend the reach of communication messages.
Major campaigns include:
- National Missing Persons Week - 31 July - 6 August 2011
- International Missing Children's Day (Global Missing Children's Network) - 25 May 2011
- Day for Daniel (Morcombe) - 28 October 2011
A key campaign is National Missing Persons Week which in 2011 will focus on addressing a common myth in society - that you have to wait 24 hours before reporting someone as missing. If someone's whereabouts are unknown and there are fears for their safety - report them immediatly to police. You do not have to wait 24 hours, or any amount of time, before reporting someone as missing.
