National Missing Persons Week 2011

National Missing Persons Week (NMPW) is an annual event which takes place during the first week of August, with this year’s official launch scheduled for

The National Missing Persons Coordination Centre (NMPCC) of the Australian Federal Police (AFP) will be coordinating the launch which aims to raise awareness of significant issues associated with missing persons in Australia.

 

The focus for NMPW 2011 is –

 

When someone goes missing

More than one person is lost

 

Reflecting the ’the impact on family, friends and the community’.

This aims to communicate that for every person reported missing approximately 12 people are directly affected, including family members, friends and work colleagues.
