Answers still matter - National Missing Persons Week 2026

This year's National Missing Persons Week (NMPW) campaign runs from 2-8 August 2026.

The 'Answers still matter' campaign focuses on eight long-term missing Australians and highlights the enduring importance of finding answers, no matter how much time has passed since a person disappeared.

Through the use of age-progressed imagery, the campaign presents an updated depiction of what each missing person may look like today. Developed in collaboration with families and AFP forensic artists, these images help bring long-term missing persons cases back into public focus and create new opportunities for recognition and information.

While time may change appearances, it does not lessen the impact of a person's absence on their loved ones or the importance of finding answers.
