Lucille Gaye Butterworth

Lucille Gaye Butterworth was last seen on 25 August 1969. After a day working at the local radio station, Lucille accepted a lift from a colleague to a bus stop on Main Road, Claremont.

Lucille was on her way to a Miss Tasmania Quest fundraising meeting in the town of New Norfolk, a 30-minute drive north-west of Hobart.

Gilbert Arthur Midson

Gilbert Arthur Midson

On 4 November 1964, Gilbert Arthur Midson left his home at New Town, Tasmania and travelled to the Metropolitan Transport Trust depot in Hobart where he was employed as a bus driver.

Gilbert completed his work shift but did not return home. There has been no sign or trace of Gilbert since 4 November 1964.

Gilbert's disappearance is totally out of character.

Barry Calvert was last seen at the Paterson Army Barracks on St John Street, Launceston on 17 April 1963. Barry was a soldier at the time of his disappearance. 

He was married with two young children. Information suggested that Barry may have travelled to the mainland shortly after his disappearance.

Attached to this profile is an age progression image of what Barry Calvert would look like today.

Eileen Jacqueline Stewart

Eileen Jacqueline Stewart was born in 1932 in England. She moved to Tasmania in March 1958 with her husband and four children.

On 7 November 1958 Eileen left the family residence at Mt Nelson to ‘do some shopping in town’ and failed to return. 

She was last sighted by a friend travelling on a bus to Hobart. The friends parted ways in Hobart to undertake their shopping. Eileen was carrying a Moroccan leather handbag containing £40 and wearing a sweater, reversible blue and yellow raincoat and a blue pleated skirt. She was also wearing her wedding ring and a bangle of foreign coins.

Ronald Johnstone

Ronald Johnstone

Ronald Johnstone was last seen aboard the vessel ‘MV Merino’ which was docked at Kings Wharf in Invermay. Ronald was a night watchman.

Ronald failed to wake the motorman in the morning. He was last seen at 2.30am. He was reported missing by his wife later the same day after he failed to return home; his bicycle was located at the wharf. He was last known to be wearing khaki overalls, a khaki shirt and a dark tweed suit jacket.

An extensive search was undertaken, however Ronald was not located.
